Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY(‘TRY, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins :
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells donot show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiplenutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEED ON: a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. are made with Aspartame and it is harmful.
A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg’saminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans.Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice(most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.

Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted,or unneeded cells.
15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

(PLEASE FORWARD IT TO PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT) CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL , U S – PLEASE READ

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Centeras well. Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.
This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.
You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Rebecca Adlington, Double Olympic Swimming Champion Without the support and encouragement of my family, I may not be where I am today. My parents and sisters have always been there for me to take me to early morning training, come to my competitions, help me stay positive and give me the love and strength I needed to take me to the Olympics. Family is so important and National Family Week is a great reminder to all of us that we should be thankful for our relationships and always put aside special time to spend together.
Rebecca Adlington, Double Olympic Swimming Champion
Laura Coleman, Miss England 2008 I think spending time as a family is so important.  I’m an only child and really love spending time with my mum and dad.  We eat together ever night when we are all in, and also, although i’m 23 we still go for days out to the seaside, which I love!  My whole family is quite small, but we are all really close.   They are so valuable to me and i don’t know what i would do without them and their endless love and support.
Laura Coleman, Miss England 2008
Sally Gunnell OBE, Olympic Gold Medalist Encouraging families to get active is a subject very close to my heart, so I am thrilled and delighted to be able to show my support for National Family Week and if by showing my support this encourages other families to consider their lives, then even better!   The family is so important to the development of our social culture.  Growing up, if I hadn’t received the love and support from my family who knows if I would of achieved what I did.  Now, being a mum to three boys I want to give them the same.
Sally Gunnell OBE, Olympic Gold Medalist
Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan As proud parents to four wonderful children, we know how important family is in all its forms. With busy schedules, it can be difficult to find enough quality time to spend together, but it is this time that is the most precious and rewarding to us. We feel lucky to have met so many extraordinary people through our work and have learned that every family is unique and inspirational in its own way. We look forward to the UK’s first National Family Week and joining families of all shapes and sizes in celebrating the treasured institution that is The Family.

Jo Frost, Family and Childcare Expert National Family Week is the first of many to come in the UK, that will acknowledge and celebrate the importance of our own families and others. The healthy love and support it holds, the stability it provides, and the framework shown, will shape our society today and in the future. I am honored to be apart of this conscious week that will bring awareness to parents across the UK, making us all much closer.
Jo Frost, Family and Childcare Expert

We are so lucky to have each other and I’m more than happy to back National Family Week.

Seal and Heidi Klum Family is such an important part of my life and it is something that Heidi and I value enormously. If National Family Week helps people to realise the worth of the people that they have around them then it will reward them no end. Having children and creating a family is such an amazing privilege. We should nurture and enjoy every moment that we spend together. I am in full support of the messages that this campaign is promoting and encourage families around the UK to get on board.

Joe Swash, Actor I would not have been able to achieve half as much as I have without my family support. With a strong family you can achieve anything. I think it is important to make time for family and spend time together, for National Family Week, and every week.
Joe Swash, Actor
Sian Lloyd, Presenter This is a fantastic campaign aimed at celebrating family life throughout the nation. I have always had a strong family support and I am so grateful to have had this. To give children encouragement when they are young is the best gift that you can give. During this week, for the first time ever, families in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales should get together and take time out as a family. Food is one of my real passions, and I can think of no better excuse than a big picnic, or family feast to get everyone rounded up.
Sian Lloyd, Presenter
Esther Rantzen, CBE, Broadcaster, Campaigner and Chair of The Family Commission I am delighted to support National Family Week which celebrates family life and serves as a timely reminder that families are the cornerstone of society and should be a top priority for all of us. For more than twenty years I have heard the children who ring ChildLine tell us that family life is crucial to their happiness, and their greatest sorrow is when those relationships which mean so much to them are broken or disrupted. By working with 4Children on the new Family Commission, I want to help ensure that families of all backgrounds and sizes get the help they need and are able to make positive choices about the future.
Esther Rantzen, CBE, Broadcaster, Campaigner and Chair of The Family Commission

Teenager born with one hand and four kidneys set to become catwalk model

By Daily Mail Reporter

A teenager who was born with one hand, four kidneys and a debilitating stomach condition is fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a catwalk model.

Maryelen Loughran, 15, eats through a tube and has crippling arthritis but beat thousands of other girls to win a place in the final of a national modelling contest.

Maryelen – who weighed under 2lbs at birth – suffers from Motility Syndrome, a rare condition that prevents her stomach digesting food correctly.

It means she is forced to eat powered food through a plastic tube that connects directly to her bowel – for up to 16 hours-a-day.

She must drag the specialist feeding equipment everywhere she goes.

The teenager – who has undergone hundreds of major operations – was also born with four kidneys and takes medication for arthritis.

But despite her physical disabilities, Maryelen is now in the final heat of Teen Princess UK after being spotted by a fashion scout at the Clothes Show at Birmingham’s NEC.

She is now set to follow in the footsteps of her idol and TV star Katie Price, and could hit Britain’s catwalks within months.

Maryelen, who lives in Birmingham, said: ‘I’m a real girly girl and I love my clothes so I decided to go to the Clothes Show and have a look around when I was approached by a photographer from Teen Princess.

‘He took some photos and then he posted them to us and I though why not give it a go – you have to have a positive outlook on life and can’t be scared to try new things.’

The teen, who will undergo major surgery in May to repair her gastric tubes, added: ‘To be honest the idea of becoming a model had never crossed my mind but now I took the plunge and went for it – I reckon it it would be great to win.

Maryelen is now in the final heat of Teen Princess UK after being spotted by a fashion scout at the Clothes Show at Birmingham’s NEC

‘My idol is Jordan, not because I want to be a glamour model, but because I think she is a strong independent woman who doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

‘I think having my disability – although I don’t like to think of it as that – makes you think like that. It’s worked for her and she is very successful.’

Maryelen, who was born 12 weeks premature, has been unable to eat anything orally since childhood because her stomach is unable to digest the food and causes her to vomit.

It means a liquid ‘shake’ containing her required daily amount of fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, is pumped into her bowel every day between 5 and 9pm.

She was also born with four kidneys and without a left hand, after it grew outside her mother’s womb during pregnancy and later failed to form properly above the wrist.

But Maryelen has refused to let the conditions stand in her way, and has even managed to gain her blue belt in karate.

Against the odds, she is now one of the last 50 girls in the Teen Princess UK final and could become the next ‘face’ of Britain’s fashion industry.

Her mother Angela, 46, who cares for her daughter full time, said: ‘My daughter is an absolute inspiration and a pleasure she gives us all so much joy.

‘She is very worried about her next operation in May but she is always so strong and is the first to try anything.’

She added: ‘Teachers at her school have said to me that sometimes they feel ashamed when they see her and they realise that they are worrying about something like a spot on their face.

‘Then they just look at her and everything pales into insignificance – she is incredible.’
