Zen-Shin Martial Arts Academys

We are holding the second of our yearly inter-club competitions on Sunday 20th May 07 and would very much like you/your child to take part. It is open to all Zen-Shin practicing students starting with our ‘Little Ninjas’ category aged 5 to 6, junior’s category, teens category and senior category. There will be first, second and third place titles and each competitor participating will be presented with an award at the end of the day. Previous competitions have proved to be a very good family day out with plenty of excitement and has been a good character building exercise for the students taking part.

The cost is as follows, payable to your club instructor.

Individual Kata Only - £7.00 per person (if paid at venue £10)
Individual Kumite Only - £7.00 per person (if paid at venue £10)
Team Kata - £24.00 per team (maximum three per team)

Spectators at this event will be charged £2.00 per person.

The Rules for the competition are:-
1. A maximum of three per team is allowed, with one reserve if required.

2. The rules of the W.K.F. will be used; hence the scoreboard system will be used for kata.

3. The adjudicator, referee and judge’s decisions will be final.
4. Where a final decision cannot be made, Shihan John Richards has the casting decision.

5. If after the bouts in kumite there is a draw, the final decision will be on points awarded.

6. Each person entering kumite must have the appropriate equipment to compete, i.e. red and blue mitts.

7. Shin pads and mitts, groin guard or chest guard and gum shield (if appropriate).

8. Any alterations to the teams must be notified before the event.

Please note: In order to protect the flooring, there are to be no shoes worn in the Dojo.
